Yesterday, I watched a slide show that portrayed life in Uganda. Way too many of the children living there lose there parents to AIDS. Those children are then forced to become parents because they have to take care of their younger brothers and sisters. It is not uncommon for a ten or even an eight year old girl to become a mother to a baby, or other small children. As if being a parent is not hard enough, these children are unable to take any educational opportunities, because they have to focus on survival for themselves, and their family. AIDS is a secret war that needs to be put to an end. Thousands of people battle with this deadly disease every day. AIDS is found to be one of the highest killing factors of people in the world today. Every single effort to help makes a change for the better in someones life. I am more than happy to do my part to help, and I hope that I can encourage others to get involved as well.
